The special delight of the afternoon, however, was the Bach, music commissioned for the 40th anniversary of fine-arts station WFMT-FM and artfully evoking about everything it puts on the air except commercials. Bach has the gift of being thoroughly contemporary and relevant and still being thoroughly accessible.
